ABRSM Exam Syllabus Recordings

The following exam recordings are now available covering all Grades 1-8: Piano, Cello, Violin, Flute, Saxophone, Clarinet, Bassoon, Oboe

Why are recordings of pieces on the syllabus useful to both teachers and pupils?

  • Teachers can listen to all the pieces on the syllabus with their pupils and make a selection for the exam

  • Teachers can gain an understanding of how their pupil's selected pieces should sound and can encourage them to listen and learn as well

  • Listening to the complete performance inspires pupils to practice

  • For instruments and pieces that have a piano accompaniment the recordings also include minus-one ("playalong") versions of all the pieces on the syllabus

  • Minus-ones tracks give children the opportunity to practice along with the accompaniment at an appropriate speed at home, school, with their teacher or friends
